PITTSBURGH AHU BOARD MEETING

October 12, 2004

I. Call to Order

· Called to order 4:13 p.m.

· Attendees: Dave Scott, Ken Herrle, Eric Bachman, Michelle Jordan, Don Balla, Doug Moore, Kevin Sweeney, Marcie Chan

II. Reading of Minutes from Prior Meeting

· Approved

III. Treasurer’s Report

· Audit Results –

· PNC account still open with $1000 for 3 outstanding checks.

· Golf Outing results (see his report), Money seems to balance. Other issue is that there were insufficient funds from the outing. We need to plan ahead for next year.

· CE Event – we made $610.56 on the event.

· We lose 3% every time we use a credit transaction.

· Ending balance $8381.39

· See attached reports.

· Doug is checking on the tax exempt form for Kevin.

IV. Membership

· 119

· Holiday Party?? To recruit new members

· Send nice invitation. Everyone bring a non member with them.

· Have event at a unique location to draw interest

· Have a speaker or a draw other than alcohol driven.

· Holiday Party – Yes, Station Square, Hard Rock. December 8^th. Back up place is Hot Metal Grill.

· Invitations – Marcie

· Membership Drive – we need to get more focused and organized to have a real drive.

· Michelle suggested a planning meeting for 2005 goals.

· Dave will call Stephanie at UPMC, and ask them for membership and give them the opportunity to be on our panel.

V. Communications

· We need to create a Media contact list, radio, print, Television.

· Put press releases, on all of our events. We need to create ourselves as the expert in West Pa for Health issues.

· Dave Scott is the media spokesperson.

· Charitable Organization – we need to sponsor one per year. We need to create community awareness and visibility.

VI. Legislative

Thank you to contributing to the State PAC, please do so if you have not. You can request in 100, 250 or 500 increments
Cap conference is the first week Feb. Those interested right now are Marcie, Doug, Dave, Don, Kevin, Michelle
Harrisburg Trip. Doug has been continually contacted by the state chair.
State day on the hill in March.
State Board Meeting Oct 21^st – Hampton Inn Monroeville 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

· Awards Chair – Ken is the Man.

· Vice President chair is vacant.

· Erie Chapter – cancelled.

· Next meeting date – Next Tuesday at Willow.
