June 2004 PGH-AHU Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting: Called to order at 4:20pm
Attendance: Don, Ken, Holly, Dave, Chad, Doug, Michelle, Kristen, John, and Tim
Treasurer’s Report - We will be using a spread sheet format going forward with a month- to-month breakdown. Actual report is on file with Treasurer and President.
President/New Business Report – Ken indicated we are planning on another September CE class (either 21st, 22nd, or 23rd).
(AI) Don will get the CE list from Vince focusing on legislative topics
(AI) HSA course offered by either Michelle or Tim
Also, Board is thinking of the Marriott in Cranberry (Christmas party) and possibly planning a ski trip.
(AI) The next meeting we will be setting Conference guidelines and adopting a formal budget
Marc Shaffer was voted as the Pittsburgh trustee. NAHU has an individual disability product as well as a supplement, for purchase by NAHU members.
Golf Outing – Dave provided update. The profit and loss might be off as much as $1,500. Currently running an audit of the profit/loss.
(AI) People who have yet to pay will be contacted by the board member who recruited them.
(AI) Discussed potential increase cost of golf outing by $10.
Membership – Tim provided update. There are currently 116 members (2 from Erie).
(AI) Dave will get list of individuals who golfed in Pgh-AHU outing to Tim
A letter was sent to the CEO of UPMC, inquiring about more Pgh-AHU membership from UPMC representatives.
Communications – Michelle will be sending out all the information for membership.
Legislative – Doug indicated that the state Political Action Committee wants to get $15,000 from the state.
(AI) Doug will send a 10 name list
(AI) $50 donation is being asked
Programs/Education – More to be discussed in July.
Technology – Holly indicated that the web site is updated.
