February 2003 PGH-AHU Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 4:10pm.
Treasurer’s Report
- The report was provided by Kris. $123 was paid to Western PA Net for Internet service hosting.
President’s Report - No Report.
Membership Report
- We currently have 86 members.
- (AI) All board members are to send e-mail to Tim outlining who they contacted about membership during February.
- (AI) Update all e-mail addresses.
- (AI) Possible calendar of events to all prospective members.
- (AI) Get on Insurance Club advertising listing.
Communications Report
- Looking for new committee chairperson.
- (AI) Talk to Denise Fetsko @ Marsh about serving on the Pgh-AHU Board.
- (AI) Talk to Holly Lyons @ Henderson Brothers about serving on Pgh-AHU Board.
- (AI) Need local representative for communication to all agents.
- (AI) Benefits Beat needs articles!
Legislative Report
- State day: Doug, Don, Ken and Mark Burns met with nine of the local Representatives. Very successful trip. Follow up letters were sent to all Reps. We will follow up with them in their local offices later this year.
- (AI) Ken will invite State Representatives for golf outing.
- (AI) Doug will call all Congressional Representatives for capital conference.
Program Report
- Don Balla will handle CE events and chair the group. The team: Chris, Ken, Dave and Don. Doug & Ken stressed need for Pgh-AHU Board to do more in this area.
- (AI) HIPAA Meeting.
- (AI) Pam Gaynor from Post-Gazette may be possible speaker (Mark Cohn).
Technology Report – No Report.
Education Report – See Program Report above.
Awards Report – No Report.
New Business Report
- (AI) Do we want to host Region I’s bi-annual meeting?
- Golf outing: Dave, Ed & Tim doing outside sponsorships. The cost for Lindenwood will be increasing $300; however, Dave is negotiating.
- (AI) Doug working on obtaining free merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
