November 19th C.E. Luncheon | ||
![]() Dana Rattenbury, Communications Director discussed Legislative & Policy Issues with PAHU Lobby Vince Phillips |
In was
a pleasure for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the NAHU to sponsor the Lobbyist of
the Pennsylvania Association of Health Underwriters, Vince Phillips, who
brought with him an insightful perspective of the inner workings of the
Pennsylvania State Legislature.
Topics of discussion for the C.E. Luncheon included Managed Care legislation, the HMO dilemma...Should an HMO be sued?, and brighter issues in the industry such as Long Term Care. Vince rounded out the discussion with anecdotes about the constant struggle within the Legislature to legislate, personal 'tid bits' about specific legislators, and where we might expect the Legislature to head with some of the industry's more sensitive issues. A resident of the Mechanicsburg area of Pennsylvania Vince holds a Certified Association Executive - CAE designation, as well as an ATM designation from the Toastmasters International organization. An accomplished speaker, Vince took what many might expect to be a very dry subject and made it very humorous and interesting. |
